Rudolf Strohmeier

Mr. Rudolf Strohmeier, born 1952 in Würzburg (Germany), lawyer and economist by training, has been living with his family in Brussels for more than 20 years. After working as an assistant teacher at Würzburg University and a civil servant at the Bavarian Liaison Office to the Federal Government in Bonn he established the Bavarian Information Office in Brussels. Joining the European Commission in 1987 he worked mainly in the private offices of several Commissioners. In 2004 he became director and since 2005 he is the Head of the private office of the Luxemburgish Commissioner Viviane Reding responsible for Information Society and Media.
