Prior to the EU’s upcoming eHealth week in Budapest, Talkstandards will host an online discussion regarding recent developments in the eHealth space related to standardisation which will take place on Tuesday 3rd May (GMT 15:00) at the following times:

Against the backdrop of the recently signed “Memorandum of Understanding” between the Vice-President of the European Commission Neelie Kroes and United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and the advance of the upcoming eHealth Week, this event is set to discuss the role of standards and standardisation in the eHealth space. Specifically the primary themes of the Event will be:

• Can Europe effectively establish a common market for Health IT and electronic health records?

• Can the fragment US health market realise efficiency gains through increased electronic integration?

Format: At the event’s commencement (see above) the keynote contributions will be published. It is upon these articles that the discussion will form. The event is the coming together of experts to foster a live discussion in an online, free and international environment.
